Classroom to Cloud Return to Learn Updates
365体育投注开户Our Classroom to Cloud Return to Learn teams have continued to refine our plans for the 2020-21 school year through ongoing planning, keeping student and staff health and safety at the forefront of our decision-making along with making sound instructional decisions for students. The teams have also received feedback from staff and families regarding our instructional model and its impact on learning.
365体育投注开户Based upon the guidelines from the Governor’s Task Force and the tremendous amount of stakeholder feedback, we have revised our Return to Learn Roadmap for 2020-21 to meet our community’s needs:
Phase 4 - Mi Safe Start Plan
While we are in Phase 4 in the Mi Safe Start Plan, West Bloomfield students in grades K-8 will experience instruction in a new blended model - four days per week, half-day schedule:
- Students in Cohort A will attend in-person instruction Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday in the morning and participate in remote learning in the afternoon.
- Students in Cohort B will learn remotely in the morning and attend in-person instruction Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons.
- All students will have remote instruction on Wednesdays to allow for deep cleaning and sanitizing in our schools.
Our Classroom to Cloud Return to Learn teams feel strongly our revised blended learning schedule has numerous advantages for student and staff safety. Instructionally, teachers will have four opportunities a week to build relationships with their students and deliver essential core instruction to a small number of students.
West Bloomfield High School students will remain in Cloud Learning while the region is in Phase 4 of the Mi Safe Start Plan. High school students will have continuous, uninterrupted instruction, delivered remotely, by our teachers. We feel strongly, given the enrollment numbers at WBHS combined with the strongly recommended social distancing protocols, that remote learning protects the largest group of students and staff from potential exposure and provides quality instruction with the least disruption.
Oakland Early College will continue with the district’s original blended model. Students have already scheduled college courses based on a two days in person/three days remote learning model.
Phase 5 - Mi Safe Start Plan
When our region moves to Phase 5 of the Mi Safe Start, all students and staff in the West Bloomfield School District will return to five days of in-person instruction. We believe it makes the most sense to follow the Governor’s carefully designed plan for safe reopening.
Phases 1-3 - Mi Safe Start Plan
Should our region revert back to Phases 1-3, in-person instruction is not allowed in accordance to the Governor’s Return to School Roadmap and all students will experience Cloud Learning with instruction delivered remotely by our teachers.
